Capt. Tim grew up fishing the brackish waters of the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, and knew quite early that fishing was what he was meant to do. He was intrigued by the vast amount of marine life, the influences of tidal flow and the seasons, and the diverse habitats that the rivers and creeks provide. The challenge to predict and catch the elusive Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, Jack Crevalle, Spanish Mackerel, Whiting, Bluefish, Tarpon, Sharks, and many other species soon became an obsession.
Capt. Tim first began guiding during the 1990s in the Jacksonville area, where he co-founded the Inshore Saltwater Anglers Club and joined a small bass trail on the St. John’s River. His passion for tournament fishing soon grew, and Capt. Tim spent two seasons chasing King Mackerel in various Southern Kingfish Association (SKA) venues on the East Coast before settling down to focus on inshore saltwater fishing. Capt. Tim has participated in the FLW Redfish tour, the Oh Boy Oberto/ESPN trail, the Inshore Fishing Association (IFA) and several other smaller inshore tournament series, with several top 10 finishes. Along the way Tim has been fortunate enough to have been featured on ESPN Outdoors, the Sunshine Network and in The Florida Sportsman Magazine. Capt. Tim then co-founded the Florida Lure Anglers’ Club and participated in their tournaments and events for several years. Capt. Tim has fished the marshes from Louisiana to the Carolina’s for over 30 years with great success, before settling on the Georgia Coast.
After fishing the pristine marshes of Cumberland, Jekyll and St Simons Islands for several years, Capt. Tim realized that this was the place he would stay. The massive amount of untouched marsh, lack of fishing pressure, world class inshore fishery, and sheer beauty of the Georgia coast makes the Golden Isles the ideal place for any fisherman.
