St Simons Fishing Report May 2021
Spring is here in the Golden Isles of Southeastern Georgia, and with that comes an abundance of migrating species. In addition to our year round residents of red fish, sea trout, sheepshead and black drum; tarpon, triple tail, king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, and flounder will join the fray!
While weather and tide will dictate the targeted species at times, the warmer weather does offer many different angling opportunities.
All types of tackle and techniques will and can be included fishing St Simons and the surrounding area. Live bait, artificial lures and fly tackle all have a place here. Many anglers come to the Golden Isles to knock tarpon and triple tail off their list, as our area has world class fishing for both!

Bernard has been with us since the beginning and is an absolute blast to fish with. Bernard brought his buddy JP this round, and they literally worked for them today. There was some descrepency on aggregate and biggest between brothers Dick and Fred Bissinger, whose competitiveness is only exceeded by their friendliness. In the end, we’ll call the agg a tie, but under booth review, big fish honors goes to Dick! Thanks guys for a memorable day, we’ll see you in February!

Good to have Michael back on the sled. Michael and his dad fish with us often, and both are fish gettin’ fools.This time Michael brought his two young sons, Charley and Alan, along with his good friend Robert. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree as the boys stayed buttoned up all day, including a tagged red which Charley released. (Dad and Robert got their share too.) Soaked the Harper`s Super Striker all day!

Was certainly blessed to have Alan, his daughter Allie, and their good friend @hill_skip today! They watched me for the better part of the morning go thru the “not where they were yesterday” scenario. With my lip stuck out, and tail between my legs, we made a long Hail Mary run. From there I watched the trio go to work pulling a pile of good fish out of some serious structure! Thanks y’all, you were certainly more composed than me! #hailmary #keepswinging

Always look forward to this father and son duo every fall. Proud pop Brandon (@grassrootsfarmsga) and son Cason yanked on the reds, trout and drum pretty hard. Cason, (QB at St’Mary’s Middle School) stole the show slinging the Super Striker and swimming the @foursevenlures Christmas Tree swimbait.
