  • St Simons Fishing Report May 2021

Spring is here in the Golden Isles of Southeastern Georgia, and with that comes an abundance of migrating species. In addition to our year round residents of red fish, sea trout, sheepshead and black drum; tarpon, triple tail, king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, and flounder will join the fray! While weather and tide will dictate the targeted species at times, the warmer weather does offer many different angling opportunities. All types of tackle and techniques will and can be included fishing St Simons and the surrounding area. Live bait, artificial lures and fly tackle all have a place here. Many anglers come to the Golden Isles to knock tarpon and triple tail off their list, as our area has world class fishing for both! Feel free to email us at Capt.Tim cutting@gmail for any questions, tips or techniques that may make your fishing trip to the Golden Isles a successful one!

The struggle was real to find any pretty water, but when we did, John, and sons Casey and Ryan took full advantage! And to be totally forthcoming, dad cake-walked his way to big fish and aggregate!
Not sure making a long run was going to pan out, but we finally found a few! Lawton and Bill pinned on the plastics and weeded thru some short fish to finally get some good ones!
Couldn’t hardly buy a keeper trout today. Nearly 40 trout to the boat dragging plastics around with Jay and Jason today. But the reds did not disappoint. Large time with these guys. Always.
Gettin’ that worm…
She loves me!! #shimano
Dang bird getting too close to sacred ground. Tryna be dinner.
Old North wind hard to hide from, but Tom and I jigged up a few. Down sizing the plastics helped. Pretty soon we’ll be throwing crappie jugs!
Tough bite, outstanding company!
Douglas, Georgia sure produces a lot of great anglers, and I was blessed to have 3 more today! James, son Bryce, and Chad made it happen on a stingy bite today. Hunted and pecked for a mixed bag of sheepshead, reds, trout and flounder! Thanx guys for a great day!
